Power
Power is a theme present throughout the novel. Firstly, there is a power struggle between Dracula and Van Helsing’s group. London was the power center of Britain in Elizabehan era, which prompts Dracula to try and gain power by attacking it.
Secondly, there is empowering of women also present in the book, with Mina being treated as an equal intellectually by Van Helsing and the other males. Dracula also gives power to women by bringing forth their sexuality, but still controls them himself.
